Today VMware launched the last of the “VCAP” exam set – the admin version of the “Desktop” track. There are now six “Advanced Professional” exams, one Admin and one Design in each of the three tracks – Data Center, Desktop, Cloud.
The VCAP-DTA blueprint has a few interesting tidbits, including the time – now 180 min verses 210 for the CIA and DCA exams. Candidates residing in non-English-speaking countries will still get the automatic 30-min extension.
The DTA exam covers Horizon View 5.2 and ThinApp 4.7 and has approximately 23 questions (three fewer than DCA) and the blueprint lists 10 major sections including a dedicated troubleshooting section.
As with the other xxA exams, all product documentation is included in PDF format.
You are required to have a “current” VCP-level cert (VCP5-DCV, VCP5-DT or VCP-Cloud) and if you don’t have VCP5-DT you will inherit that cert with a successful pass.
The exam is now available, start the authorization process here and good luck!
